I’ve always liked Sugarland’s music (this is country music, by the way), but with their recent CD release I just can’t get enough of Jennifer Nettles’ voice. She has a remarkable sound, which I can only best describe as a beautiful twang. There’s one particular song that really stands out for me, but its from an older CD release. The song is “Stay”, and I’ve included the music video below. It’s a sad song, but its the emotion she’s able to portray just using body language and the sincerity in her voice that makes it a great song.

Speaking of country music, there’s a (somewhat) new poll on the side of my website, asking about people’s feelings on the genre. Already a few votes, so let’s keep them coming!
Some sad news to report in that my wife’s grandmother passed away last night at 8:30pm. I’m not really great with breaking bad news, so I’ll just say that Nadia is doing well considering, and that we’re all glad that she isn’t suffering any longer. She seemed very peaceful.
And finally, I thought it best to end this post with some good news. After a huge set of coincidences, we have received a full refund from a snow removal service that we had initially bought for Nadia’s parents as a Christmas gift. The guy was failing to remove snow after a few consecutive days of snowfall, and so we decided that either he was trying to scam us, or that he’s just really terrible at handling the amount of customers he has. Either way, we wanted out, and we got it last night. So, cheers to that.
Its funny, I can’t stand Sugarland for exactly the same reasons you love them. That twang is very irritating to me. I can’t get past it. Sarah loves them, but when we are together driving and they come on, I do my impersonation of the voice and she has to change it.
You don’t have to ask me twice about country music, and as for Sugarland I think they are awesome…a great down to earth country act with good songs… some songs you just have to hear again and again…like Sin Wagon by the Chicks… Dad
