Operation Canada: Phase II
Now that I've successfully moved into Toronto, it's time for me to get a job, get a new bank account, a new cell phone plan, a new driver's license, update my portfolio for finding a job, etc. etc.. I've got my SIN (Social Insurance Number, similar to SSN in the U.S.), so that will allow me to open a bank account and get my driver's license. Getting a job is most important right now though, so that I can help pay for the apartment, and to have my own money as well. Phase II is well underway!
We certainly are lucky to die
We are going to die, and that makes us the lucky ones. Most people are never going to die because they are never going to be born. The potential people who could have been here in my place but who will in fact never see the light of day outnumber the sand grains of Sahara. Certainly those unborn ghosts include greater poets than Keats, scientists greater than Newton. We know this because the set of possible people allowed by our DNA so massively outnumbers the set of actual people. In the teeth of these stupefying odds it is you and I, in our ordinariness, that are here. - Richard Dawkins
Operation Canada: Phase I
So to prepare for my invasion of Canada, I have to clean out my bedroom and make it look like a guest room. This is a LOT harder than it sounds. I have endless supplies of junk I've collected over the years of my residence here, and it'll be tough to part with some of it. I also am not graced with a lot of time either... I'm flying out to Toronto on Tuesday, driving back to the US on Thursday, attending my cousin's wedding Friday and Saturday, and then driving back to Canada for good on Sunday.
And still looking for a job...
Hello world!
Hey everyone! This is my first post on brianirish.com, and I hope I'll get lots of use out of this website in the future! For now I'm mainly going to use it as a means to distribute my resumé and portfolio. Thanks for visiting!
